Pakistan Super League: 28 foreign players agree to come to Pakistan and play PSL

South Africa fast bowler Dale Steyn is among the 28 foreign players who have agreed to play in the Pakistan Super League next year.





These players are in the Platinum category of PSL.

The Pakistan Cricket Board has this time announced all the PSL matches in Pakistan and the willingness of these players to play PSL means that they are ready to come to Pakistan.

It is to be noted that the last date for registration of players in the PSL is November 21, due to which more foreign players have agreed to participate in the PSL in the next few days.

Dale Steyn has registered his name for the first time in the Pakistan Super League.

Dale Steyn is the highest scorer for South Africa with 439 wickets in Test matches. The number of wickets he got in One Day International is 196 and T20 International is 61.

He traveled to Pakistan with the South African team in 2007.

Apart from Dale Steyn, the names of the 28 players who have joined the Platinum category so far include Moin Ali, Jason Rowe and Adil Rasheed. All three were on England's World Cup winning team this year.

West Indies' Kieron Pollard is also included in the Platinum category, but he will not be available for the entire league due to representing the West Indies.

Three Afghan cricketers Rashid Khan, Mohammad Nabi and Mujeeb-ur-Rehman have also agreed to participate in the PSL.

According to the rules of the Pakistan Super League, each team must have at least sixteen and a maximum of eighteen players. Each team must also include five or six foreign cricketers.

Each team can have three players in the Platinum, Diamond and Gold categories, while the Silver category has five and the Emerging category has two cricketers.

There are three exotic cricketers in the playing XI that get off the field.

This time, each franchise will be allowed to retain eight players from the previous squad, compared to 10 last year.

The franchises for the Pakistan Super League will select the finalists in the first week of December.
